Registration and First Start

dikas Faktura is the invoicing software from DiKAS — for everyone who writes invoices and quotes but needs no POS: trades, consulting, agencies, freelancers, small businesses. You work in the browser, there is nothing to install.

This page leads through sign-up, the first login and the company data that must appear on every invoice.

Create an account

Open the registration:

https://konto.dikas.de/signup?tier=faktura

Item What applies
Trial period 60 days of the full plan dikas Faktura Pro — free of charge
Payment method no credit card, no payment method at sign-up
Afterwards The account automatically continues on the free plan
Cancellation not necessary — no payment obligation arises that you would have to end

What happens after the 60 days

The plan automatically falls back to dikas Faktura Free. Your data remains fully preserved — customers, quotes, invoices, PDFs. Only the feature set changes. All details: Plans and upgrade.

The process corresponds to the general online registration: enter your email address, click the confirmation link, enter company data and desired address. At the end you receive the address of your instance, your username and your password — additionally by email.

Keep access credentials safe

Note down username and password in a safe place. The password can later be changed under Staff.

The first login

Open the address of your instance, enter username and password and click "Log in".

Login with a second factor (authenticator app)

If you have set up two-factor login for your customer account, the login asks after the password for a 6-digit code from your authenticator app. A mistyped code does not throw you back to the password step — you simply enter the next code. After five failed attempts (password and code counted together) the account is locked for 15 minutes; during this time even the correct password does not help. A correct code resets the counter.

dikas Faktura lands directly in the administration area — there is no POS view in between. The start page is the customer list: from there you write quotes and invoices.

The sidebar

A Faktura login deliberately shows only the areas that have a purpose without a POS:

Menu item Purpose
Articles Services and goods as a template for invoice items
Customers Customer master data — and in it the Quotes and Invoices tabs (start page)
Staff User accounts, permissions and passwords
Reports Evaluations
Analytics Key figures
Settings Tax rates, templates, number ranges, email
Help & Docs / Report a bug This documentation or problem report

Finance is added as soon as the Pro plan is active and the module is switched on (subscriptions, SEPA, bank reconciliation, open items).

What you deliberately do not see

Dashboard, Kassenbuch, Kasse, Tische, Bons, TSE und die Kassenmeldung ans Finanzamt sind in dikas Faktura hides them. Without a POS there is no POS receipt — these areas would have no content. The settings are also shortened accordingly: printer, hardware and hospitality tabs are missing.

Normal or Expert

At the top right is a Normal / Expert switch:

Normal: only the most important fields. Expert: all settings.

In Normal mode only the basic tabs remain visible in the settings (payment methods, operations, tax rates, system, data management). For PDF template, number ranges, email and the other tabs, switch to Expert.

For setup: switch on Expert

All steps below assume Expert mode. For daily operation you can switch back to Normal at any time afterwards.

Store company data

Company name and address come from your license — that is, from the details you gave at registration. They appear automatically on every invoice.

Under Settings → System → System you see this data (company, street, ZIP/city, country, tax number, email, phone) as well as your licensed modules — view only, not for editing. They are changed in the customer account at konto.dikas.de.

Some details you add in the instance itself, because an e-invoice additionally requires them. They are all in one place:

Settings → Finance → E-Invoice

Section Fields
Details for the e-invoice Contact person, Phone, Email
Legal details of the company Tax number, VAT ID, Commercial register number, Management/registered office/register court
Bank details for invoices IBAN, BIC (optional)

No standard-compliant e-invoice without an IBAN

For payment type bank transfer the IBAN is a mandatory component. Enter it before you send the first invoice. If an account is already stored under Finance → Bank accounts, it is used and the field here serves only as the fallback value.

The contact person with phone number as well as tax number or VAT ID are required for the e-invoice.

Logo and layout of the invoice

The appearance of invoice, quote and delivery note is contained in a template file — your logo is also placed there.

Settings → Print & templates → PDF template

There is a separate card for each document: Invoice template, Quote template, Delivery note template.

  1. Click "Download" — you receive the current template as a spreadsheet file.
  2. Open the file in Excel or LibreOffice, insert your logo and adjust texts.
  3. Via "Upload template (.xls / .xlsx, max. 5 MB)" select the file and click "Upload".
  4. Use "Refresh preview" to check the result.

With "Reset" you can return to the supplied default template at any time. On the right you see a live preview of the invoice PDF.

There is no separate logo field

The logo is embedded in the template file — there is no separate logo upload in dikas Faktura.

First the template, then the first invoice

A sent invoice is stored immutably and later delivered exactly like that again. A new template therefore only affects invoices created afterwards.

Tax rates and number ranges

What Where
Tax rates (19 %, 7 %, 0 % …) Settings → Finance → Tax rates
Number ranges for invoices and quotes Settings → Print & templates → Number ranges
Email sending (sender, templates, footer) Settings → Print & templates → Email

Small businesses under § 19 UStG

dikas Faktura can issue invoices without VAT with the mandatory note "Gemäß § 19 UStG wird keine Umsatzsteuer berechnet.". The switch for this is currently not in the interface — contact us via Report a bug in the sidebar, and we will switch your instance over once.
